The Full Story

My name is Greg Carter, I'm a Christian, and I serve as a Captain and training officer with Milton Fire Rescue. I began my career in January 2011 with Hall County Fire Services, where I became a Paramedic. In October 2014, I joined Milton, where I have spent 6 years as a firefighter, 6 years as a FAO (with nearly 2 years as OIC), and I will have 2.5 years as a Captain by June 2025. My passion for training drives me, as I believe IT IS the most crucial aspect of our work.

My inspiration for this website stemmed from years of difficulty in finding training classes. The constant navigation between different websites, missing valuable opportunities and facing challenges in getting accepted into classes left me wishing for a single resource to access the training I needed. Once I became the training officer for my department, I quickly recognized that I wasn't alone in this struggle. This realization motivated me to take action, leading to the creation of the Fire Department Training.

My complete vision is that this becomes a nationwide resource. I want to add a search by location filter so firefighters can see what's happening in their area. The whole purpose of the site is to allow instructors to utilize the free resource to fill classes, find classes to host, and understand what kind of classes firefighters want.
